International Missionary Department Scholarship
Purpose of the Scholarship
The International Missionary Department (IMD) of the Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ (COOLJC) sponsors and funds this scholarship to support students at W.L. Bonner College who demonstrate a calling to missions, evangelism, and Christian service. The scholarship strengthens the development of trained missionaries within COOLJC.
Requirements
Applicants must meet all of the following requirements.
A. Missionary Status Requirement (Primary Criterion)
The applicant must be:
A COOLJC Missionary who is active and in good standing according to the International Missionary Guide and Handbook.
This includes:
- Official recognition as a Missionary within COOLJC
- Active missionary service at the local, diocesan, regional, and/or international level
- Current on all IMD dues
- Demonstrated holiness, consecration, and Apostolic character
- Membership in good standing in a COOLJC local assembly
- Compliance with all standards, duties, and expectations outlined in the International Missionary Guide and Handbook
No applicant may be considered who does not meet this requirement.
Eligibility Requirements
B. Academic Requirements
- Must be admitted to W.L. Bonner College as a degree‑seeking or certificate‑seeking student
- Must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
- Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours (part‑time) or 12 credit hours (full‑time)
C. Character & Conduct Requirements
- Must demonstrate integrity, leadership, and Christian character
- Must have no outstanding disciplinary actions at WLBC
- Must uphold COOLJC holiness standards
D. Required Documentation
- Completed IMD Scholarship Application
- Pastoral or Missionary Supervisor Recommendation verifying missionary status and service
- Proof of IMD dues (receipt or verification)
- WLBC transcript or acceptance letter
- Personal Statement (300–500 words)
Selection Criteria
Awards are based on:
- Verified missionary service
- Academic performance
- Financial need (if applicable)
- Strength of recommendations
- Alignment with IMD’s mission and values
Award Conditions
Recipients must:
- Maintain GPA requirements
- Remain active and in good standing in the IMD
- Stay current on IMD dues
- Participate in IMD‑approved missionary activities
- Uphold WLBC’s Code of Conduct
Funding & Administration
- Sponsored and funded solely by the International Missionary Department
- Administered in partnership with WLBC Financial Aid Office
- Award amounts determined annually by IMD leadership
Definition: “Active” (Missionary Activity Status)
- Participate consistently in missionary work at the local, diocesan, regional, or international level
- Fulfill the duties, responsibilities, and service expectations outlined in the International Missionary Guide and Handbook
- Attend missionary meetings, trainings, and departmental functions
- Engage in evangelism, outreach, and service initiatives
- Support the Missionary Department through prayer, presence, and participation
Definition: “In Good Standing” (Missionary Standing Status)
- Are current on all International Missionary Department dues
- Maintain a lifestyle consistent with holiness, consecration, and Apostolic doctrine
- Demonstrate ethical behavior, integrity, and Christian character
- Are free of disciplinary actions within COOLJC or WLBC
- Faithfully support their local assembly and Missionary Department
- Comply with all standards, expectations, and conduct requirements in the International Missionary Guide and Handbook
